This pair of Kookaburras came to visit yesterday. They sat on the fence for ages while I snapped, and when one finally flew off, the other stayed for more photos.

During the bushfires in Victoria in 2009, we had a larger number than usual of native birds visiting us in search of food and water. Since then, the wild bird population is back to normal, so I'm focussing more on our aviary birds for this blog.
I've never seen a Kookaburra in real life, but they look cute and way bigger than I had anticipated. such a friendly expression

Amazing that they "posed" for you! They're beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I love seeing the birds (and chickens) outside. My window in my little sewing room is a constant delight.
ReplyDeleteGina, I've never seen these birds before. Are they babies? Are they native of Australia?
